Mission Statement The goal of the Observational Gait Instructor Group (OGIG) is to promote the use of gait and movement analysis for the evaluation and treatment of patients with various impairments and disabilities.
The Observational Gait Instructor Group is an international union with established gait experts from Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center, Los Angeles/USA and the University of Southern California (USC) Los Angeles. The union was founded from the staff of the Pathokinesiology Laboratory Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and Kirsten Götz-Neumann 1998 in Los Angeles/USA.
The OGIG follows the systematic approach to the study of normal and pathological gait popularized by lifelong clinical and research work of Dr. Jacquelin Perry and the latest published valide research releated to Gait and Movement from other sienctist and clinicians, too.
- To educate physical therapists, physicians, orthotists,
sports trainers and other health care professionals to the concepts of
both normal and pathological gait.
- Utilize and disseminate the latest research concerning gait
and movement analysis.
- Create a referral network for patients seeking advice
regarding treatment options.
- Give therapeutic help to parents with movement disorders and
Gait problems of there children
- To work and promote on efficient physical therapy strategies.
- To support research work to prove physical therapy for
efficiency.
- Train professionals to become certified international OGIG
gait experts.
